Start with the bins you own

Measure the widest point, including wheels and handles, then check the depth and height with the lid closed

Open the lids and pull each bin forward to see how much working space you need

Check the openings

• Clear internal width for every bin bay
• Door opening after hinges and stops are installed
• Height and clearance with the bin lid open
• Space in front to wheel a full bin out
• Overall footprint including the frame and roof overhang

Fixed top or lifting lids?

With a fixed top, confirm whether bins must be pulled forward to use their lids

With a lifting top, check the movement of both the enclosure lid and bin lid, including space behind the enclosure

Compare the size with your plan

The outside width is not the usable opening, and a capacity label such as 240 L does not establish the dimensions of a particular bin
