A garden bench with a matching table
These Leopold bench and table plans cover a 180 cm garden bench and a low coffee table built with crossed timber frames. The bench’s longer legs extend upwards to support the backrest. The construction uses screws, with no half-lap, mortise or dowel joints.
Dimensions
The metric bench measures 180 × 83 × 88 cm overall, with a seat height of 44 cm and a seat depth of 35 cm. It seats three. The matching table measures 100 × 60 × 40 cm. Overall dimensions are rounded to whole centimetres in the guide.
Materials and tools
The design uses 45 mm planed softwood. Check your actual board thickness before cutting. You will need a mitre saw, drill-driver, structural screws, squares and clamps, plus a table saw or circular saw with a guide for three long bevel cuts.
Build time and experience
Suitable for a confident beginner comfortable with angled cuts. Allow about 10 hours of building time plus finishing, spread over two weekends. The build uses 30-degree and 36.9-degree angles; build the bench first, then repeat the frame construction for the table.
What the plans cover
The guide covers both the bench and table, including dimensions, cut lists and illustrated assembly instructions. Two SketchUp 3D models are included, one for each piece. Check the Etsy listing for the current price and full download contents.
These are digital building plans. Timber, hardware and tools are purchased separately. View the plans on Etsy.
